Solid Urban Wastes treatment

A serious issue all over the world is finding a way of disposing of Solid urban wastes. Each fmily of four produces daily, on average, more than 6 kg of waste.

Daily we throw thousands of tones of valuable materials and we keep storing them. Are nowadays wastes an issue we should tackle or a resource we should exploit?

What is obtained from the treatment of urban solid waste through the pyrolysis plant?

The plant disposes  of MSW 1.6 ton / h, which waste has the following composition:

THERMAL ENERGY PRODUCTION

The work cycle also produces thermal energy. This is partially recovered and used for the thermal treatment of the unloaded materials, for the cooling of the syngas through a heat exchanger, but also for the cooling and heating processes. For each KWw we recover 1,3 Kcal/hour. We get 1300 MW from 1000KWw, and thus at a rate of 7500 hour/year we shal obtain 9750 Mcal.

Feedstock recovery rate

From the work cycle we recover ferrous metals, aluminum, inert materials. The first two can be recycled and merchandised, while the inert materials can be used for street maintenance. These salvaged materials reduce the work management and personnel cost that ensure the operation of the plant
