The facility is supplied with unsorted solid urban waste treated properly, and the pyrogas line produces gas: the cleaning properties of L.E.G (low energy gas) recommend it for the technical prescriptions contained in the implementing decrees. The treated L.E.G. will be used for the production of electricity with endothermic engines to power the electricity grid and to provide electricity for individual use.

The size of a 1,200 KW line

Each line has the dimensions necessary to guarantee a nominal electrical output of 1000 kw per hour. The shredding phase only involves reducing the size of the final material so that it can be subjected to drying and pyrolysis processes.


The material size is <20×20 mm. Under such conditions, it yields approx.:

  • 850/950 Kg/hour of gas with P.C.I. = 4.200 kcal/Nm3 (4,8 kWh/Nm3)
  • 100 Kg/hour of carbon structures
  • 80 Kg/hour of condensate with a water content of 70-80 %

680-720 Kg/hour of gas are sent to the gas meter with a P.C.I. average 4.8-4.9 kW/Nm3, with a cogeneration output of about 3.6 KW/t.

Taking into account an electrical conversion efficiency of 33-34% and a thermal conversion efficiency of 45% the yield is:

  • 1.200 kW electric
  • 1.600 kW thermal

Total number of operating hours: 7,500 hours / year under normal conditions. Total electrical efficiency of the facility: 25%.
